Professional experience: Architectural practice in New York and Virginia across residential and commercial projects, new construction, renovation, and historic preservation; design experience in the U.S. and South Korea; former lecturer, Department of Architecture, Konkuk University.
Education: SMArchS, Architecture + Urbanism, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT); Bachelor of Architecture, Hanyang University; Interior Design, Dongduk Women’s University.
Yu Jung Nam is the founder and principal of 0520 SpaceDesign. With a background in both architecture and interior design, she brings together space planning, materials, interior details, and furnishings as part of a connected design process.
Her approach begins with understanding how people live and what they need from their spaces. Rather than designing around a particular style, she focuses on creating thoughtful, functional spaces that feel personal to the people who live in them.
